Now that spring is upon us, we have just freshened up our private garden and everything is green and budding. We love hosting family and friends at our farm table in the garden and Easter dinner is a perfect opportunity for a garden gathering. Today, I’m sharing 5 tips for a simply southern Easter dinner. So scroll down and see how easy it is to host your own Easter party!
1. Bring out the china & monogrammed napkins.
I love linen napkins and blue & white plates. Nothing says “southern” like a monogram. Shop your cabinets and linens. Use what you have to layer dinner plates with salad plates and linen napkins for an effortless elegance on your tablescape.
2. Fresh flowers and potted plants.
I love going to the nursery and looking at all the fresh spring plants and flowers that are out now! Think outside just using cut flowers and add in small potted plants and flowers for your centerpiece. I mixed cut flowers in a vase with potted flowers and ferns. Tulips are a must for any Easter table. Add a little bunny and a lemon and you are ready to finish your centerpiece with desserts!
3. Ready-made pies.
Delicious pies on display add to our centerpiece and let our guests know the treats in store for them after Easter dinner. I love to serve pie but don’t have the skills to make a really good one. Marie Callender’s® pies allowed me to spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying Easter with my friends & family. No other frozen pies deliver homemade quality and taste like Marie’s.
On my last trip to Walmart, I picked up two flavors of pie for our party. Marie Callender’s® Lemon Meringue Pie is my favorite! But to be sure we had plenty of pie to go around, I also picked up Marie Callender’s® Coconut Cream Pie. The affordability and convenience of Marie Callender’s® pies made these the perfect selection for our Easter dinner dessert.
4. Easter baskets & placecards at each place setting.
Add a festive touch with small Easter baskets topped with collectible Papier-mâché Easter eggs in different colors and patterns. I created a printable place card for each place setting. Personal touches let our guests know how glad we are to have them with us!
5. A pitcher of fresh lemonade.
Nothing is more refreshing than a pitcher of fresh fruit lemonade. Choose your favorite lemonade and add cut fruit and herbs to the pitcher. Since it is so pretty, let it be part of your tablescape decor. And it makes it easy to refill drinks around the table!

This looks awesome! Did you do the eggs and bunny holder around them yourself, or did you find them somewhere? It’s my first year in charge of Easter and so far the Easter aisle at the store has been too overwhelming for me to find anything cute.

Aww! Thank you! So I bought the eggs from Cost Plus World Market. They were in their easter section and in a variety of colors and patterns. For the bunny baskets, I got plastic mint julep cups from my florist store and I soray painted them blue. (I got a small can of spray paint from Hobby Lobby…they sell a small can and it says “shortcuts” on it and it’s meant for small projects…it was the perfect size a small project. One can covered six cups). Then I used bunny wrappers from a set of party cups I had and wrapped them around the cups. Hope this helps! You can do it 😉

Hi Beth!
Here is a link to similar bunny cups with the wraps you can use. The exact one I had is not available anymore but these are the new version. http://shrsl.com/?h941 and here is a link to plastic mint julep cups if you need some 😉 https://www.afloral.com/products/silver-mint-julep-cup-4-25-tall-not-for-drinking
