There is nothing better than enjoying all the outdoor festivals during summer evenings. Our little town hosts a summer concert series in the park in historic downtown. We love to pack a few snacks, something refreshing to sip on and meet up with friends to enjoy the music.
I have some easy ideas to share with you as you plan your next outdoor gathering.
1. Choose your event and pack accordingly.
For our outdoor concerts, I like to pack a blanket and a couple of pillows to be comfortable. If I take chairs, I use my low beach chairs so I don’t block other people’s view of the show.
2. Create easy snacks.
Easy food makes for a simple but elegant pairing. I like to arrange pita crackers, meat, cheese, and cucumber bites on a cheese board for a light spread that is perfect for a summer night.
3. Bring stacked wine.
I recently discovered Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon stacked wine. There is truly nothing easier than to bring these along and you don’t have to sacrifice quality for an on-the-go event!
They come pre-portioned in 4 plastic wine glasses. Just chill the white wine ahead of time and you have the perfect portion already poured and ready to go. No need to pack the corkscrew, try and save what’s left in a bottle, and no need to worry about glass at a public park.
4. Create a cool treat.
For an added treat, make White Wine Peach Slush and Triple Berry Red Wine Slush. You can make these the night before and store them in the freezer. The frozen treats make it super easy to transport in a cooler bag to your event and as they thaw, the slush is perfect for sipping. For White Wine Peach Slush recipe, click here. 5. Enjoy!
