I recently partnered with Swoozie’s to inspire your Thanksgiving gathering this year. I just love Swoozie’s and walking into one of their stores is like walking into the party! But don’t worry, if there isn’t a store in your neighborhood, they have all of the fun online at their website too!
So, here is a little inspiration that hopefully will leave you feeling Thankful. Grateful. Blessed. I am sharing more of my tips after the photos. Happy Thanksgiving!
1. Set the table. Setting the table is the easiest way to set the tone of your Thanksgiving dinner. You don’t have to go buy everything new but a few key pieces will bring it all together. Start with a monogrammed burlap table runner and pull out your white dishes & gold accents. A great touch is adding these stemless wine glasses with a warm thought printed on them….Give Thanks. I just love these and they will be great year after year. Add some beautiful foil napkins and you are set.
2. Create a centerpiece. Visit your local market and select flowers in a similar color palate. Don’t forget something green. I found these persimmons that were the perfect touch of fall for my centerpiece. Add a couple of pumpkins in soft colors and you have a beautiful arrangement for your table. Another way to round out your decor is to use a large chalkboard and write “Give Thanks”.
3. Give your guests a place to be thankful. I just love the idea of using grateful cards at each place setting to allow all of your friends and family to reflect on what they are thankful for. You can then paste them into a Thankful book and pull it out year after year to remember how blessed you all have been. You can also use the book to write your thoughts in to have a combination of grateful cards & handwritten notes from everyone.
4. Add a touch of whimsy & humor. I just love anything that brings a smile to the faces of my guests. For the kids, holiday crackers filled with small toys & prizes are perfect and these little Pilgrims are a huge hit! For the adults, I couldn’t resist using this spreader to remind everyone of what is bound to happen…”Let the stuffing begin.”
5. Remember it’s really about the relationships. A beautiful setting is a great way to focus on the relationships shared with family and friends. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving this year, and that each of you truly feel Thankful. Grateful. Blessed.
Happy Thanksgiving!
