Halloween is just around the corner and there is nothing more fun than BOO’ing your friends (secretly leaving a bag or bundle of spooky treats at their door, along with a note announcing they’ve been BOO’d and suggesting they BOO it forward)! So why not gather your group and throw a BOO party to make your own BOO kits and share the spirit by BOO’ing those who do life with you day to day?
To host the ultimate party, create a BOO bar with all the essentials for your BOO kits. I stopped at Walmart for a one-stop shop for building my BOO bar. I picked up a variety of candy, snacks and drinks and displayed them in Halloween containers so my guests could easily assemble their bags.
A fun touch was to take really cute Halloween gift bags and stickers from American Greetings® and add a black & white stripe bow to the front of each one. Preparing these ahead of time allows your guests to enjoy the BOO bar goodies upon arrival. See the full tutorial on how easy it is to make these down below!
Once everyone has finished packing the bags, you can enjoy what is left over for your own party food. A few other treats added in are always fun too. I made Spooky Apple Nachos for a twist on caramel apples. Be sure to check out my recipe below. A&W® Root Beer served in limited edition monster cans* are also a fun nod to the holiday. There is something even cooler about these monster cans…The monster on each can comes to life with an augmented reality experience. The monsters interact with each other! You can activate the experience by visiting www.minimonsters.com and downloading the app.
Want to know what I offered on our BOO bar to pack our bags? A variety bag of candy featuring SNICKERS® Fun Size, M&M’S® Fun Size and TWIX® Fun Size candy bars and another variety bag of candy featuring Skittles® Original Fun Size, Starburst® Fun Size, Life Savers® Gummies Fun Size candy. Variety bags are great because you get so much value for your purchase. I separated the candies into separate bowls to let everyone see their options for packing.
And it’s nice to have some snacks in your BOO bags too. Salty and sweet, the perfect combination! I had cauldrons of Cheez-It® snack packs, Halloween snack sized Pringles®, and individually wrapped Rice Krispies Treats®.
Once you have packed your BOO bags, be sure to add a “You’ve Been BOO’d” printable before you deliver them! Visit BOOItForward.com and print your own BOO cards to include in your BOO bundles. Now it’s time to party! Have fun BOO’ing!
So want to see how quick and easy it is to make your own BOO bags? All you need are cute Halloween gift bags and stickers from American Greetings®, black and white striped wide ribbon and thin black ribbon. 1. Gather your supplies. 2. Cut the ribbon. 3. Take the longest piece of wide ribbon and fold to make the bow. Place on top of the shorter piece of wide ribbon with the angled ends. 4. Use the thin ribbon to tie the bow together. 5. Tape to your gift bag. Fold the top of the gift bag when you are finished filling it and secure it closed with a cute Halloween sticker.
And how about making a quick spooky snack to enjoy during the party! To make my Spooky Apple Nachos, just follow the directions below.
