Halloween is just around the corner and who doesn’t love Candy Corn? There have been lots of Halloween party ideas with a candy corn theme, but I decided to put my own twist on it and add a little pink to liven up my party! The key to any dessert table or themed party is to find your inspiration and then make all of your selections based on that. So my inspiration pieces were this super cute wooden sign stating “Candy Corn Welcome HERE” and who can resist this whimsical blackbird…her name is Crowdelia and I ADORE her! She is just what this party needed! I hope you enjoy our little party and get inspired to create your own fabulous celebration this Halloween! See more details and easy DIY tips after the pics.
Happy Halloween!
DESSERTS
I decided to keep things simple this year with semi-homemade treats. I picked up Two-Bite Brownies from my local grocery store with the orange & yellow icing already on them. I added a pink candy corn for an extra touch and our “BOO” cupcake toppers finish them off. Then I filled painted apothecary candy jars with rock candy sticks, gumballs, and of course, candy corn! I hung our printable tags on the jars to add to the decor. Orange colored candy apples were the perfect way to showcase my Spooky Trees. I made these trees using the craft project tutorial from Stephen Brown’s Handmade Halloween book! The recipe for the candy apples is also in the book. They are so easy to create and I just love the way they turned out.
FAVORS
For favors for our guests, I filled plastic cups with candy corn packets & large bouncy balls with an eyeball in the middle. I tied them with ribbon and added our printable Happy Halloween tag to each one. The kids will really love playing with these and they can use the cups too! The bats, ghosts & pumpkins were another creation I made from a tutorial in the Handmade Halloween book. I like the added embellishment for the favors. I also used pink & orange striped cupcake favor boxes to send our guests home with a cupcake too!
DECOR
I picked up most of what I needed for my party from Swoozies. Just being in the store is like going to a party!!! So here’s a list of what I used that you can get at Swoozies too:
GLITTERVILLE TABLE RUNNER, CUPCAKE FAVOR BOXES, CROWDELIA (WHIMSICAL BLACK BIRD), CANDY CORN WELCOME HERE WOODEN SIGN, BLACK & WHITE CHEVRON CERAMIC PLATES, PAINTED APOTHECARY CANDY JARS, HANGING CANDY CORN DECOR, MARIBOU PUFF GARLAND, BOO Y’ALL PLASTIC CUPS, CANDY CORN PACKS & EYEBALL BOUNCY BALLS, CANDY CORN PARTY PLATES, PINK GINGHAM NAPKINS, BLACK SPIDERWEB FELT CHARGERS, AND A LITTLE PIZZAZ!
