The Lion King has a special place in my heart! My son’s first drama club production in the seventh grade was The Lion King and he got to play the part of Adult Simba. This was the first time I experienced a level of pride that only comes from watching your child excel and succeed at something they put their heart into without any help from you. It was an experience I will never forget and I doubt he will either. So when it came time to plan a baby shower for my book, Entertaining with Disney, I couldn’t think of a better way to welcome your new baby to the pride!
There are also detailed instructions for a DIY Jungle Balloon Garland and a printable Hakuna Matata Backdrop.
Here’s a peek inside the party. Grab your copy of the book to get all the details and how to’s to welcome baby to the pride!

We are very interested in doing a bridal shower similar to this WElcome to the Pride shower, for my niece. I am wondering you could share where you got your lion decorative pieces from? Thank you!

Hi Denise! Thanks for asking! The lion king mask is actually an ornament I found online. My son was the Lion King in his school’s play and I had purchased it for him that year as a memory of his performance. But it was from the broadway show so if you search Lion King mask ornament, you should be able to find something similar. I hope that helps!

Thank you! We were able to get a couple! One more question, I hope, where did you get the stand that your water cooler is on? I really love that!
Amy says
Hi Denise! I am so sorry I didn’t see this earlier 🙁 The stand the water cooler is on was a decorative item that I found at a store called At Home. They are kind of like a Homegoods but more like a Walmart of home decor items/furniture. The do have a website but like Homegoods, their inventory constantly changes so I would suggest looking in any home decor discount stores and always look in every section. This piece was in the faux plant section to use as a plant stand. I just thought it fit the theme and was the right height for my drink dispenser 🙂

I am using some of these beautiful ideas for a birthday party coming up, but I need some help with the Hakuna Matata poster. I have the Entertaining with Disney book and have downloaded the poster template, and now I’ve run into 2 problems. I tried to get it printed on blueprint paper with Staples, but they had to cancel my order because of Disney copyright, and because it was too much ink coverage for their blueprint paper. Do you have any recommendations for how/where I can print the poster in a large enough size (was aiming to attach it to a 20×30 foam core board) just on cheap paper so it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? And some way to deal with the copyright issue if I do find somewhere to print it?
Amy says
Hi Sarah! I am so sorry I didn’t see your comment back when you wrote it. I am not sure about the copyright issue as the publisher would be the one to answer that. However, I have always had great success with Walgreens photo. They always have a coupon for at least 40% off and I use their same day poster printing services. I have never had an issue with the ink and I print full color posters all the time (even a full black poster for a star wars themed party). Their poster paper has a matte gloss finish to it and it’s thicker paper which is so nice and the 20×30 size is a same day service. I upload the file to their online printing service and select same day pickup at the location closest to me. I highly recommend using Walgreens if possible.
