Spring is here and it’s time to plan your Easter celebrations! This year I am hosting an Easter Egg Hunt and Brunch for my teenage son and his friends! They are never too old to hunt for eggs filled with candy and money! We love entertaining and it’s easy to do with a quick trip to Walmart to get everything I need to shop all things Easter! I stocked up on REESE’s Eggs and Cadbury Eggs at Walmart so we can enjoy them all season long. Don’t forget, you can also use Walmart Grocery Pickup to save yourself some time in-store.
I am sharing all my tips after the photos so take a peek at our Easter table this year and hop to it! Easter’s on it’s way.
THE TABLE
I love anything bright and bold for our celebrations. For the table, I layered a green tablecloth with white placemats. I added faux boxwood placemats and then topped each one with a napkin, plates and a printable card with the letters H-O-P. I just love the way they look! This is such an easy place setting to recreate. I created a place setting tutorial so you can see just how simple it is.
I also filled clear favor boxes with a variety of REESE’s Eggs and Cadbury Eggs candy and topped each one with a printable bow. This creates a festive favor our guests can take home. To finish the table, I created a centerpiece with a mixture of fresh and faux florals from Walmart. This is a great way to get the look you want even if your local florist doesn’t have the varieties of flowers that you love.
THE MENU
For brunch, I like to serve delicious but simple foods. The menu included a breakfast casserole, fresh fruit, and apple turnovers. I also served carrot mango juice with sprigs of flat leaf parsley to look like carrots. This was a hit with everyone! For dessert this year, I am making our Easter absolutely Egg-stra with REESE’S eggs. I created little bunny butts from fondant and added them to REESE’S eggs to make them look like bunnies digging in the dirt. They turned out so cute! REESE’S Eggs are the perfect canvas and it’s become my family’s new favorite tradition.
THE HUNT
Long gone are the days of fields of eggs laying out in plain sight, ready to be picked up. Egg hunts are a treasured tradition in our home but as my son gets older, I plan to let our hunt evolve with more difficult hiding places and better prizes worth hunting. So this year, I stuffed the eggs full of REESE’S Eggs and Cadbury Eggs. If you want an extra idea, wait until dusk to have your hunt and put mini glow sticks in the eggs to help them be found in the dark. So fun! Some of our eggs were filled with candy and some were filled with loose change or one dollar bills. But the golden egg had an extra bonus….a gift card from Walmart!
I hope you are inspired to host your own Easter celebration this year. Hop over to Walmart and be Egg-stra this year with one stop shopping for all your Easter needs. Happy Easter!
