It’s bowl time! We are huge college football fans and the bowl games have already begun. Come New Year’s Day, we will be in front of the TV all day watching back to back games. The last thing I want to do is hang out in the kitchen and miss all the action.
I’ve put together a winning game time inspired meal to pair with Coca-Cola™. I created a “Pigskin Bowl Bar” for our watch party! Mini croissants shaped like footballs make great buns for our hot dogs and the toppings bar allows us to create the ultimate dog. I even made a free printable sign you can use to show some ideas for different creations or you can create your own combination.
FREE PRINTABLE PIGSKIN BAR SIGN (Please enjoy our files for your personal use. If you would like to share them, please link to this blog post and not to the individual files. Thank you!)
To create the sign just like I did, use this file: 20″ Pigskin Bar Sign
For a 8.5″ x 11″ sign, use this file: Letter Size Pigskin Bar Sign
For a 17″ sign, use this file and print on 11″ x 17″ paper: 17″ Pigskin Bar Sign
What pairs perfectly with these mini pigskins? Ice cold Coca-Cola™, of course! And to round out the meal, I am serving mac & cheese and my cantaloupe basil salad in paper treat cups that look like a football field. How fun?
I love the details when I am throwing a party, but let’s be realistic. When it’s a family gathering in the living room to watch football all day, I want to keep it simple so I don’t miss a single down. I chose to get a six pack of Coca-Cola™ Zero Sugar and get them nice and cold overnight in the refrigerator. I pulled them out just before game time and put them on a large plate. (I love the black and white stripes on the plate. They remind me of a referee’s shirt!)
For the hotdog bar, I arranged my mini hot dogs on a football shaped platter. The mini croissants are the perfect football shape to hold the hot dog. I used bun length hot dogs cut in half for our mini sized hot dogs. This makes it so easy to taste several different combinations rather than commit to one flavor for the entire meal.
The toppings were super easy to put out in football shaped cups. If you like the combinations I have included in our printable sign, you are in luck! I created a shopping list that you can print out and take to the store so you will have everything you need to recreate your own hot dog bar.

To round out our bowl game meal, I made a couple of “Sideline Sides”. I baked mac & cheese and made my cantaloupe basil salad. I served them up in fun football themed cups. I am not a melon fan but y’all, don’t miss this cantaloupe salad. It is so good! I will share the recipe with you down below. And here is your recipe for success to pull your watch party off!
Good food, an ice cold Coca-Cola and football! That sounds like a perfect day. So how will you be watching the games this year? Do you have any watch party tips and tricks? I’d love to hear them. For even more meal pairing ideas, be sure to hop over to Coca-Cola and see all of their great ideas!
And good luck to all the teams “bowling” this year!
