Hey friends! So, summer is quickly approaching its end and I am getting into that back to school mode where everything gets organized, refreshed, and ready to start a new school year with a bang. I have recently accepted a part time position as editor of our local lifestyle magazine. I love this new position but am finding that I need a total overhaul of my small home office space to manage my new responsibilities with my current ones. I do not have a dedicated room for my office, so furniture for small spaces and wall organization is key for me. I love to create an inspiration board for anything I am planning…whether it’s a party or a makeover in my home.
SHOP THIS INSPIRATION BOARD:
Off-White Josephine Desk – Wood
Pieced Chevron Brazilian Leather Area Rug: Gray – Cowhide – 5′ x 8′
Blush Molded Evie Chair
Marble and Gold Margaux Laptop Table
Faux Potted Agave Plant
Adler Glass Wall Shelf: Gold – Metal
Gold Metal Royce Magazine Holders
Gold Animal Tape Dispenser
One of my favorite things to do when I am planning to redesign a space in my home is to walk the stores and get inspired. I do this when I am planning parties too! You never know what will catch your eye and inspire a new color palate or a fresh take on functionality. I love walking through my local World Market in Auburn. There is so much to look at, and when new collections hit the store, it is a great way to sit in, feel, and look at all they have available. I “window shop” a lot, which allows me to get all my ideas together before I make a final decision and get busy on a new design.
Once I go.et inspired, I can’t stop! I love an office space that allows me to be creative and to sit down and brainstorm without sitting at my desk. Planning parties and choosing editorial content for the magazine isn’t all work at the computer. Sometimes I need to sit back and play with storyboards or samples. I like a space that is cozy that lets me continue to work, but not at a desk. So I expanded my inspiration board to include a few more items that I can curl up on. I can’t wait to get it done and enjoy my new home office!
