Y’all, football is only 50 days away! And we can hardly wait! Recently, I have seen lots of summer parties & drink recipes in the magazines and I love the idea of using a watermelon as a drink dispenser. This watermelon keg tap makes it so easy to do. But for football season, I thought it would be fun to make the watermelon into a football! So here’s how to do it.
How cute did my football keg turn out? Even my son thought it was a hit!
If you are looking for a great recipe for a fun drink to go inside your football drink dispenser, Good Housekeeping has a yummy one in their July issue. Perfect use of the watermelon you scooped out to make your drink dispenser.
I’d love to see how your football watermelon turns out so post it to social media and tag me: @amyspartyideas and use #amysbrilliantideas
Let the countdown continue!

UPDATE: In my research, I did not find anything suggesting that the paint on the outside of the rind could be transferred to the inside of the watermelon or the drink inside. All I could find was that Rust-oleum paint was non-toxic when it dried. But for those of you who might be at all concerned about safety or anything toxic from the paint, you could always paint the watermelon with non-toxic tempura paint like they use in classrooms. Happy tailgate!
